Lake Mývatn is very shallow lake and on a clear, calm day one can easily see the lake bed when flying overhead. The remarkable pseudocraters at Skútustaðir can be seen from a unique point of view as well as the renowned explosion-crater Hverfjall and the crater row of Þrengslaborgir. Also to be seen is the famous high-temperature sulfat area of Mt. Námafjall and one of Iceland’s youngest lava at the Krafla volcano area. You ain't seen the Mývatn region until you look at the amazing nature “from above”!
